Who we are
The conformation of INECOL emerged about interest in developing research on the use of natural resources, conservation and biodiversity of Mexico. In turn, this interest stemmed from the need to have basic and scientifically based answers to solve the ecological problems arising from the use of natural resources.
This position has resulted in a significant body of experience and still in force today. This is a solid foundation seeks to support the establishment of policies and appropriate mechanisms to continue and promote the development of the country, avoiding the possible impact of the environment and biological diversity of ecosystems, which affect the quality of life and welfare.

INECOL is a public institution that produces scientific knowledge, develops technologies, create public and prepares professionals in ecology, biodiversity and natural resource management for the conservation of natural and social and economic development of the country.
VISION
INECOL is a strategic center for social development, natural heritage conservation and the preparation of professionals, supported by the production of ecological knowledge and biodiversity, with international recognition.
